Well, here they are, two BTH units ready to contribute their bits to my LE (must give it a name!).
And here’s the BTH generator rotor I’ve also acquired. May come in handy one day!
So, now to raid the new BTH units and make a whole working ignition and charging system out of all these bits, and, you never know, may have the machine running soon – but I’m not overly optimistic, somethings bound to be missing or go wrong… But my goal is to see if the engine’s a good ‘un before investing time and effort into doing things like electronic ignition and full rewiring of the bike.
Also, need to work out how to lift the body off the gearbox and final drive so that I can get the engine in to the chassis. That’ll be interesting as the body dangles from the garage rafters while I fiddle with all those hidden bits to get them working ok…
