Bits arrive!
My first proper interaction with the LE Velo club has been very positive (well, apart from the rather antiquated form filling needed and having to write my first cheque for a couple of years – that needs bringing up to date for sure). A box of all the bits I ordered arrived a few days after the order was placed. It felt a bit like Christmas! Now work can start for real.

I’ve been having a little problem when moving the chassis around the garage – it wouldn’t stop as the brakes weren’t connected. Now the supplies have arrived I unpacked and connected up the front brake cable. A little bit of fiddling as I found out how the various bits went together, but all done now and we have stoppage! A bit of lubrication is needed of the brake mechanism – I suspect some primer got into the felt, plus the innards are probably dry and a little rusty, something to investigate later.
